It’s in Mauves-sur-Loire, in Loire-Atlantique, that the Trail Mauves in Green. Created in 2012, the year when Jean Dujardin won the Best Actor Oscar for the film The Artist, it’s your turn to be an actor in this trail with stunning landscapes 🎬 . Under pleasant temperatures and sometimes capricious weather, start a few strides from Nantes, you’ll see it’s colorful!

The Mauves Trail offers two distances: the discovery trail of 18 km and the Trail Mauves in Green of 63 km (which you can also do as a relay). We won’t hide its difficulty: the 63 km will give you 3 ITRA points and 1500 m D+, it’ll fire up your glutes! You can also challenge yourself on a Nordic walk of 17 km, so it’s up to you! And whether you’re color-blind or not, it won’t change a thing! You’ll explore the Pays de la Loire starting from Mauves in a loop that skirts the north of the Loire and climbs slopes to offer you splendid panoramas over the river 🏞️. Your nature run, painted with colors, will take you through vineyards and past a few Loire manors and castles, such as the château de Clermont, the Château Guy De Maupassant or the Château d’Ourdon 🏰 . Your eyes won’t know where to look! You’ll, among other things, run along the longest river in France, across fields, tread forest paths and climb the surrounding ridges. But don’t worry, your effort will be minimized thanks to the cheer of fanfares and birdsong that will accompany you throughout your journey.

And since you won’t be in the red but rather in Mauve, go ahead and visit the Loire by boat 🚣 , you deserve a bit of rest! And for your waterfront aperitif, plan a good bottle of local wine, a Muscadet Coteaux de la Loire paired with curé Nantais will be perfect to satisfy your craving 🧀 .
