Trail du Pays Bleu

The Trail du Pays Bleu welcomes you to Renazé in Mayenne. Were you expecting a seaside race? Think again! But no matter—this race in the Pays de la Loire is going to dazzle you. Like an athlete, whether it’s raining, windy, or humid, you’ll face the elements in this February trail. Believe that blue dream—it's wonderful (and wet)! ☔

For this meetup, head-to-toe in blue 🔵 (that part’s up to you), 3 distances are on offer: the “Mineur Trail” of 8 km, the “Trail de l’Ardoisier” 15 km and finally, for lovers of dynamic strolls, a Nordic walking option of 15 km that will delight you.

The course offers a deep immersion in the natural and cultural heritage of the area. Curious? Get ready to tread the trails of the Lourzais forest and especially discover the mining heritage of the region. You’ll cross the slate quarries, wander along the slate mines and explore the green trails around Renazé 🌳. You might even stumble upon some unusual places like nature stairs—watch your step, you won’t expect to see them there! Some technical sections will even require you to climb a steep slope using a rope among other things 🪨. Of course, when they say blue dream, they mean a bit of sky time too—there’s a touch of elevation, don't worry, it’s more rolling than hard. And to spice things up, expect some muddy and slippery passages—be careful!

At the end of the course, take advantage of being near Rennes and Angers for a quick city detour. And if you’d rather stay put, there’s plenty to do thanks to the Slate Museum in Renazé or the nearby castles of Craon or Pouancé Castle that are well worth the stop. 🏰
