Set off for the Trail of Montaigu in the Aube, between Souligny and Bouilly, a spring trail event where forest paths remain pleasant despite a few chilly temperatures. Two courses are available: 15 km through the woods of Souligny and Bouilly, and 27 km with the hills of Laines aux Bois and Grandes Vallées, leading to the ultimate ascent of Montaigu. Nordic walking and hiking complete the offering for all profiles, so ready to take on the challenge?
Montaigu is yours! Set off on a run through the forests of the municipalities of Souligny and Bouilly in the Aube department, in the Grand Est region. The Trail of Montaigu takes place in April—a pleasant time to run, even if temperatures can be a bit chilly. ✌️
On the trail! Two courses are offered to you with a 15 km and a 27 km. The 15 km circuit will let you discover the woods of Souligny and Bouilly. You’ll need to gear up with your best trail shoes to tackle the winding trails awaiting you 🌳. The 27 km will take you up the hills on the side of Laines aux Bois and the Grandes Vallées. Get ready to put your heart in the glove box with the ultimate ascension of the Montaigu site, the traditional tiebreaker of the race. If you’re a walker, you’re not forgotten! A Nordic walk and a hike are organized so you can wear out your shoes. 😄
As the sun sets on your race, a memorable stay begins. Head to the city of Troyes and explore its historic center. Architectural abundance in Troyes’ city center invites you to the glorious past of the textile industries, with old brick factories 🏛️. Then pop the cork! Visit the estates and taste the exceptional Champagne of the Marne, the first French department producer of champagne 🍾. Its various vineyards, such as Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs, the Marne Valley and the Saint-Thierry Massif have plenty to delight you if you’re a champagne enthusiast. Then enjoy a good local meal with an appetizer of gougères, and for the main course, treat yourself to the delicious Andouillettes de Troyes that will satisfy you.
