Dust off those Charentaises 👞, it’s time to lace up your trail shoes! 👟 Off to Louzac-Saint-André in Charente, in the heart of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. You’re set for early October to test yourself against the entries of the Trail des Bois de Louzac ! 🌳 Right in the middle of the cognac lands (yes, you’ll be only a few kilometers from the eponymous town 📍), between nature and forest 🌲, you’ll discover the lifestyle of the Charentais : sharing, conviviality and a pinch of sport ! 😎 This trail is shaping up to be a real party, but promise, the aid stations won’t be tastes of cognac 😂. Yes Jamy, even though harvest month is in September, it takes almost 3 years to make cognac! ☝️ So we’ll save it for later and focus on performance 💪.

You’ll be able to push your limits on the trails of the Forêt de Bourou : 30 km, 17.5 km or 10.5 km, it’s up to you to choose based on your level and your goals! 🤗 The elevation isn’t too challenging, whether you come to perform 🚀 or to try a new discipline 👶, you’ll surely find your happiness. By the way, for the trail runners thirsty for UTMB points ⛰️, you’ll be spoiled: the Trail des Bois de Louzac is listed on the UTMB index! And as if that wasn’t enough as a quality mark, the event is also part of the Charente Trail Performance Challenge 🏆. Now that you know everything, we’ll tell you about the other events! 😁 If racing isn’t your thing, the 10.5 km is also offered as a walk 🚶‍➡️ and a 6.5 km Canicross 🐶. It’s safe to say this is a trail with a lot of bite! 😅

To crown it all 👑, the Trail des Bois de Louzac acts to protect its lands! 🌿 During the 2024 edition, the “Verger de l'école" was created thanks to planting fruit trees 🍎. This year, the operation "Nettoyons la Nature" is launched to pick up rubbish on the courses 🚮. It would be a shame to damage such a place. You’ll be at the heart of the "Borderies", one of the 6 Cognac crus! 🤩

Of course, after crossing the finish line 🏁, we’ll strongly recommend you discover the secrets of the most famous French eau-de-vie: there’s no better place ⭐. But be warned, alcohol should be enjoyed in moderation ⚠️. Not to mention its alcohol content, the city of Cognac is also known for its architecture and history! 🏛️ It would be a shame to miss its castle 🏰 or its public gardens ⛲, plus you won’t find a better way to unwind than a little sightseeing stroll! 😉
