Trail du Vieux Semur (nocturne)

Beginner or seasoned finisher, the Trail of the Old Semur invites you in January to enjoy a one-of-a-kind race like no other, set in the heart of a medieval city 🏰 in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.

In the village of Semur-en-Auxois, in the Côte-d’Or department, the event offers five distances to suit everyone, especially since the positive elevation isn’t insurmountable 👍. In addition to the XL version of 27 km (650 mD+) and the classic version of 18 miles (550 mD+), the Trail of the Old Semur also features a hike of 10 km and a trail around the walls of 8 km (200 mD+) to explore the fortifications, plus a canicross to run off with your best friend. 🐕

Imagine the setting! During a cold and misty winter night, a few days after the holiday season, you’ll wander the stone-walled streets of the village. Some are illuminated but for the others, only your headlamp will guide you to outsmart the cobblestones 🔦. But don’t just look at your feet! All around you stand the monuments of the past that define the grandeur of Semur-en-Auxois: the Collegiate Notre-Dame, the donjon and the walls of Semur-en-Auxois: the Collégiale Notre-Dame, the donjon and the ramparts. Excitement guaranteed! And it isn’t because it’s a night race that you’ll be alone in the dark 😉 ! On the course, lovers and shopkeepers will cheer you on to push you toward the finish line.

After the race, push open the door of a tavern to savor the delicate taste of the truffle of Bourgogne or local escargots. For the drink, you’ll be in a globally renowned wine region; we trust you to pick the best beverage (but always in moderation) ! 🍷
