The Shark Trail takes place in January in Grand-Couronne, Seine-Maritime, and offers two distances: 10 km and 20 km. The course is demanding, with an 800 m climb, a succession of climbs, and a single track in the Forêt de la Londe-Rouvray, all before a downhill and a flat finish. After the effort, explore the surroundings: Grand-Couronne, the Forêt Domaniale de la Londe-Rouvray, and the Marais de l’Aulnay, then nearby Rouen.
Starting the year in predator mode is the goal of the Shark Trail in January at Grand-Couronne, in the Seine-Maritime department. It’s the moment to prove your worth in the chilly Norman air and sharpen your sense of running! 🏃
On the agenda for this event, two distances : 10 km and 20 km. The 10 km, dubbed “ Le Classique ” may sound short but it’s the kind of intense. A quick lap of the stadium and off you go for an 800m climb with a positive elevation gain of 100mD+. It’s only the beginning because there will be a series of small hills before leveling out on a flatter, slightly downhill stretch. Then, another small climb before discovering a single track in the Forêt de la Londe-Rouvray. One more hill to go and then relief with a descent and a final flat stretch. 😌
For the 20 km, you’ll get the same program but… double! You’ll feel lactic acid rise in your quads, especially when you go again to take on the 800m hill for a second time at the 800m climb! 🥵
After the race, we recommend visiting Grand-Couronne, on the left bank of the Seine. It’s wooded and the Forêt Domaniale de la Londe-Rouvray deserves a longer look, especially for its biodiversity. The Marais de l’Aulnay is also a highly recommended stop to rest after so much effort. And if you want to get to know the area even better, don’t hesitate to take a quick trip to Rouen, which is right nearby. 😉
And to recharge, to accompany your glass of cider, the camembert roast made in Normandie will warm your insides!
