In the commune of Sorbiers, in the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the Trail des Salamandres offers two distances: 11 km and 19 km. Expect an elevation gain of 280 m D+ on the 11 km and up to 600 m D+ on the 19 km, with technical paths and vistas over the Monts du Lyonnais. An 11 km Nordic walking option is also on the program, for an accessible yet athletic experience.

In the commune of Sorbiers, as spring temperatures arrive in March, you’ll begin your journey! The Trail des Salamandres, there are many challenges, but no worries! 🦎
Two distances are offered by the organizers for this Salamandres Trail: an 11 km and a 19 km. Expect to follow the paths of the trails of the Monts du Lyonnais.
The smallest distance of 11 km is an race accessible to most, the difficulties are light but it remains a trail with its own features and challenges. Be careful not to take it lightly. To plan: an elevation gain of 280m D+, paths and a few very beautiful panoramas over the whole Lyon region. 🤩
If you opt for the intermediate race, the 19 km, the difficulty will rise! More distance means more challenges, especially in terms of elevation which reaches 600m D+. For the course, you won’t be disappointed with landscapes that will take your breath away: a true trail experience to feel: a real trail with a sensation for slightly more experienced runners. 😎
A Nordic walking of 11km is also offered. It will follow the 11km trail route.
Not far from Saint-Etienne, come discover a real adrenaline-pumping trail and perhaps also the local gastronomy with a few pieces of fourme d’Ambert to snack on! It’s smooth, it’s good and it smells wonderful l’Auvergne ! 😋
