Trail du Pays de l'Ourcq

No doubt about it: trail running is your thing 🐎. Not the one you saddle and ride, but the one that makes you gallop as soon as you hear about singles, elevation gain (D+) and nature! So yes, your friends and family eventually tell you you’re a bit the Ourcq obsessed with running! So, to convert them to your passion, take them on a weekend trip to the far north of the Seine-et-Marne, less than an hour by car from Paris 🚗. It’s here, in the small village of Crouy-sur-Ourcq that fewer than 2,000 inhabitants live, where the Trail of the Ourcq Country, in the month of June 🌞. A friendly event that should inspire your loved ones to adopt the a "trail attitude"! 😎 4 events are available, to suit all profiles: 35 km, 18 km, a 13 km hike 13 km, 12 km and a 2 km trail for kids.

Initially organized by a group of trail enthusiasts like you, this race drew more than 800 participants from its very first edition, in 2017 😯. In 2020, the École de Trail du Pays de l’Ourcq was created and now runs the event while offering specific training programs to runners in the region 👍. After the tough Covid period, the Trail of the Ourcq Country got back on its feet and brought together 1 200 participants around a wonderful variety of events. There is the flagship 35 km race that attracts all who love the challenges and who aim to place regionally (it will be a Challenge Trail Île-de-France event this year 🏆).Challenge Trail Île-de-FranceAnd then, there’s the 18 km trail, the Nordic walking of 13 km 🚶‍♀️, the 12 km trail to run13 km, the 12 km trail to run12 km to run solo or in relayand even a mini-trail for kids. Everything is designed so the whole family finds something to enjoy! And that’s not all! The race is open to para-athletes 🧑‍🦽 and commits to the planet! ♻️ Want to bet you’ll only hear about trail on the way home? 😉

Okay, because there’s more to life than sport and you want to prove to your critics that you care about other things, you’ll offer a little cultural visit to your group 😏. Crouy-sur-Ourcq has the remarkable Saint-Cyr-and-Sainte-Juliette Church from the 12th century, the superb donjon of Château de Houssay from the 14th century, as well as the fontaine aux 3 angelots on the Market Square 👼. Around Crouy you can also stroll along the banks of the Ourcq Canal 🌊, in the many woods and forests, as well as at the heart of a lush countryside 🌿.
