The Evancy Trail National Côte d'Opale in Pas-de-Calais attracts more than 7,000 participants from France and around forty countries, offering a variety of routes: 4 trails on Saturday at 10, 14, 18 and 21 km and 3 trails on Sunday at 15, 42 and 62 km, with an 83 km challenge. The start is near the seaside resort town of Wissant, between cliffs and dunes, for an authentic coastal experience.

Join the most important trail running event in natural surroundings in the Pas-de-Calais department, in the Hauts-de-France region. For several years now, it has been part of the Trail Tour National and welcomes more than 7000 participants from four corners of France and from about a forty countries to take part. It’s cosmopolitan, it’s friendly, the essence of trail running! 😎
There are options for every taste, which is why the organizers offer varied courses : 4 trails on Saturday of 10 km, 14 km, 18 km and 21 km as well as 3 trails on Sunday of 15 km, 42 km and 62 km ; finally, (drumroll...) the 83 km challenge will allow you to accumulate the 21 km and the 62 km, sounds tough! The start of this trail in Côte d'Opale takes place next to the charming seaside resort of Wissant, known for its long sandy beach and its two cliffs that jut out into the sea, hence its nickname “ Land of the 2 Caps ”. ⚓️
We start along the coast before climbing to the heights above the beach. Then, a pass by the Cap Blanc Nez with its white chalk cliffs before crossing the town Hervelinghen and its endless plains. Trails and paths will push you up with plenty of single tracks through the Aval dunes and the Chatelet 🏝. A bit of forest trails before tackling the La Slack Dunes? Heads up, calves, lactate is coming 😬! Finally head toward the Cap Gris-Nez with its clay and chalk cliffs before finishing at the finish line in the town center of Wissant.
Dénivelé aside, the joy of feeling the sea air while gazing at the cliffs and dunes—what more could you ask for? To spice things up: a tasting of a good fricadelle washed down with beer after the effort 🍟.
