In the heart of Pays Nantais, Vertou hosts the Trail du Vignoble Nantais, a race around the region’s biggest wine cellars 🍷. Created in 2008, this must-attend Loire-Atlantique event offers 5 varied courses (13, 19 night, 24, 44 and 100 km) through the vineyards, with technical and playful routes along the three rivers (Sèvre, Maine, Moine). A festive atmosphere and Muscadet tastings at the finish promise a nature-filled, discovery-focused experience.

Created in 2008, the Trail du Vignoble Nantais (TVN for the insiders 😎) has become a unmissable event on the Loire-Atlantique race calendar. Its varied paths through the vinesoffer both technical, original, and playful routes. If you crave nature and discovery you’ve come to the right place; the town of Vertou (11 km south of Nantes) will bring you into the thick of it in mid-April, get ready to be spoiled!
As the Famous Five, 5 wild courses await you: 13 km, 19 km, 24 km, 44 km and the queen event of 100 km (nicknamed the Ultra Trail du Vignoble Nantais, that says a lot...) ! A small variant: the 19 km course is a night trail. No matter the distance, you’ll set off to conquer landscapes Vertou all green of the Pays Nantais while following the three rivers of the region (the Sèvre, the Maine and the Moine in case you want to play tour guide during the race 🤓). Passing through the Vignoble de Vertou, without getting tipsy like Obelix (you’ll have plenty of time to taste his good wine after the race) you’ll also pass through the towns of Saint-Fiacre-sur-Fain, Château-Thébaud, Clisson and Aigrefeuille-sur-Mainedepending on your route. As for elevation, get ready, it will heat up the vibe like that extra glass of wine 🤪.
The Trail of the Vineyard will soak you in its festive vibe that will push you to go even further! And guess what? Not to worry, of course 😉, you’ll later reward yourself by tasting the local Muscadet! Bet you’ll bring back a few bottles from your Pays du Vignoble Nantais trip? If you’re not afraid of heights, you can rise up and overlook the vines at 30 meters on the Porte-Vue de Château-Thébaudand after all that, head to Nantes to visit the Machines de l'île and the Château des Ducs de Bretagne!
