The goal is to bring back to life the local traditions and the legendary village races, where your Uncle Didier used to run in flip-flops... 🩴 Yes, fond memories! 🥹 So head to Laguiole, for a weekend in June, in AveyronOccitanie to run the 10 km the fastest in France! 💨 Of course with its 300 mD-, you can imagine the race isn’t labeled ❌. With its 10 km of downhill, the Transhumance Classic offers you a challenge both accessible to all and intense in laughs... Watch out for cows on the descent! 🐄 The legend has it that nearly half the participants beat their personal best on this race ⚡️. Croix de bois, Croix de fer, if we lie... We’ll go to Aubrac !

At the rendezvous? Spruces 🌲, friends, vibe and sun! ☀️ Because it’s not just a simple road race, it’s a genuine return to the roots of festive traditions that shaped village life in the Aubrac 🥳. Through the Transhumance Classic, organizers drew from the transhumance, a tradition shepherds used to move their herds 🐃 to summer pastures 🌼, the race itself goes the opposite direction, you start at the pastures and descend to the village. By taking part in this event, you help keep the region’s authenticity alive, enjoying friendly moments and performing in a legendary race 💪. Start from the small ski resort 🎿 of Bouyssou (yes, they really have it all there), and head to the Place du taureau ! 🐂 The course follows a stunning route, offering a spectacular panorama of the Aubrac landscapes Parc Naturel Régional d’Aubrac 🏞️. And don’t worry, no bull will challenge you at the finish line… Except, of course, the impressive bronze bull that guards the site 😉.

Besides the fiesta-sport vibe 🎉, it’s also a fantastic opportunity to discover the area after the race! 🏃‍♂️ Local producers and residents will be there to cheer you on in a festive atmosphere, and show you their products, post-race and even at the aid stations! 😋 You’ll taste cheeses and cold cuts from the local terroir but also the aligot, the fouace 🍞 (a brioche lightly scented with orange blossom 🍊) and Marcillac wine, an AOP, a treat for red wine lovers 🍷 (drinking in excess is dangerous for your health, please drink responsibly). A true culinary heaven, trust us. Besides being a paradise for your taste buds, venture into an exceptional natural setting, with plateaus, forests and streams 💧. Nearby, you can train on the GR 65 🥾, traversing these picturesque, historic landscapes 📖. Or the stunning Gorges du Tarn, perfect for a kayaking trip 🛶. If you want to extend your stay but in a more relaxed way, why not explore the region’s charming villages, like Laguiole famous for its artisanal knives 🔪. Or the village of Saint-Amans-des-Cots and its surroundings, which let you savor country quiet in a local inn, to recharge after your 10 km on fire 💆.
