If you know the dinar for its Mediterranean currency 🌊, you’ll quickly realize that the Emerald Coast and its Breton counterpart breton, by comparison, is a whole different ball game 😍.

Dinard in the Nord, isn’t just a seaside resort where you sip tea between two striped beach huts 🫖. You know, those little colorful chalets you’ve seen in many French films 🇫🇷 like "Les Vacances du Petit Nicolas". Well, that’s not the only quirk of the area. In September, when the tourists have gone home and nature reclaims its own, our Breton friends take the opportunity to host an event that brings together cycling 🚴, swimming and running. Every year at the start of autumn 🍂, the Illévilainois Bretonniers trade the umbrella for the swimming cap ☂️. Join them for a weekend of a lifetime between Saint-Lunaire and Saint-Briac 🌇. As for the program, you have nothing to worry about! ✋ Fear of missing out? The organizers decided to plan absolutely everything: 3 triathlons, 4 swimruns 🏊, 1 trail and 1 kids’ course are on offer and will let you burn as you wish 🤪.

Regarding the profile of the events: it’s as flat as a pancake 🥞… no pun intended with Brittany 😳. You’ll be able to showcase your full potential in each activity: running, trail or cycling. We don’t dwell on the swimming 🤿, but that’s usually not the steepest part of the course 😂. If you want to test each discipline: opt for the triathlon. With long distance, olympic and open courses, you’ll surely find a pace that fits 👟. The flagship of this weekend is the "Long Distance Triathlon": 1.6 km swim, 90 km of road cycling and a half-marathon run 🏃. Book your following day as well, you’ll need a few hours of rest to absorb the effort 😮‍💨. The "Olympic Distance" is ideal to compare your times with the best performers of all time ⏱️. Iconic distances and normed courses, you know what you’re signing up for ✅. Finally, to get a first impression of the triathlon: the eponymous "Discovery" 💡. Go easy at first, and if you like it, there are tougher formats waiting for future years!

If you need one more reason, it’s probably the landscapes that will sweep your heart away 💞. The scenery will remind you of the greatest Hitchcock films (suspense minus, sweat plus 🎬). By the way, if you open your eyes wide (and look up a bit at the sky 👀), you might spot the famous statue at a corner of a building. Its statue, inaugurated in 2009, watches over the Écluse Beach and reminds that the Great Britain is just a few hundred kilometers north, beyond the Channel (not the one on your t‑shirt…) 👕. Since you’ll be in Ille-et-Vilaine, take the chance to stroll through Saint-Malo, a famous pirate city rich in history 🏴‍☠️. An hour’s drive away, you’ll also find the legendary Mont St-Michel 🏰. This quirky commune dominates the surroundings and won’t leave you indifferent! 😉 Finally, if you’re after some rest to balance out a weekend full of active days, book a thalassotherapy directly at Dinard 😌.
