Take on the Ceven Trail challenge in Le Vigan, in the Cévennes National Park, and explore breathtaking landscapes in the heart of the Cévennes. From 12 to 101 km, each course offers steep climbs, ridges and technical trails, for spectacular panoramas and an unparalleled immersion in nature. Get ready for a demanding trail, but lifted by a friendly atmosphere and a unique setting.
In March, Occitanie is the perfect time to take on a demanding trail with landscapes in spring colors, and temperatures that can be chilly up high. Do you like pushing yourself? Good news, you’ll be running in Vigan in the Gard to tackle the Ceven Trail!
Le Vigan (and not Végan) sits in the exceptional Cevennes National Park southeast of the Massif Central. Expect a trail high on splendor! The program features not “seven” but “five distances offered: “ the Trail of the Viganais” 12 km with 450Md+, “ the Trail of the Onion of the Soft” 23 km with 1000Md+, “ the Marathon of Toureille” of 42 km (you were expecting it) and its 2200Md+, “ the Trail of Stars” and its 63 km with a positive elevation gain of 2500Md+ and finally “ the Ultra at the Edge of the Circus” 101 km on the clock and a mind-blowing positive elevation gain of 4400Md+ with a nocturnal start. This promises a heavy lineup, so we hope you’ll start with a light mind and excellent training! 🏋️
Don’t expect an easy stroll, it wouldn’t even be possible! There will be quite a few steep climbs but the opulent landscapes will sweep you away into a parallel universe and make you forget all your worries 🤩 ! Each route has its own feature, you’ll surely find one you like! Get ready to discover the soft onion terraces, peaks like Serre de Toureille, the Valley of the Arre, the Cirque de Navacelles and its canyon and of course the Cévennes and the Causses ! Expect spectacular panoramas in the heart of a rich biodiversity that will leave you speechless 🌿. Regarding the terrain of this nature race, steep climbs, dizzying descents, rocky trails, technical single-track sections, ridges as well as beautiful hamlets await you. You got it—no rest will be granted, so come with an iron mind and powerful legs for your trail in Pays Viganais 🦵 !
Held by the kindness of the many volunteers and the friendly atmosphere of this event, there’s no doubt you’ll push past your limits! Then, once your trail in the Cévennes is done, it will be carved into your memory as it is into your muscles.
After this extraordinary experience in a unique setting, unwind with a great locally sourced meal. For the main course, try a Porc à la Cévenole and a Reinette apple crumble from Le Vigan or the delicious cévennes chestnut cream for dessert 😋, perfect to forget all your pains!
