Ultra Montseny

If you’ve never run abroad before, why not start with a neighboring country, the Spain? 🇪🇸 In a border region to boot, the Catalonia! 😍 A stunning region, whether you're talking about natural treasures nature or cultural. So lace up your best running trail shoes trail and book your spot for the Ultra Montseny, a real test! 💪 It’s set in the gorgeous landscape of the Montseny Nature Park that hosts this race. A lush, green, wooded area north of Barcelona, where you’ll need mental strength. Expect strong competition in a UTMB World Circuit event... Even with the climbs, your pace will stay intense 🥵 we guarantee it. Expect a variety of interesting surfaces: rocky passages, tree-lined paths 🌳... The Montseny Nature Park is a magical corner... you’ll have a few kilometers to notice it 😅. The race takes place in full spring, so you’ll get to enjoy all the colors of the nature 🌸🌈.

Three trail courses trail are on offer: 26 km, 53 km and 80 km. A short trail and two longer trails offering demanding climbs: respectively 1218 mD+, 3079 mD+ and 4868 mD+ ! 😮 You’ll want strong quads. Depending on your route you’ll discover the pueblos (what, you don’t remember your Spanish lessons ? 😆) of Montseny, Viladrau or La Garriga. Some really nice spots with distinctive colors inviting you to explore the Catalan inland, very rich. Many medieval remnants await you!

After the race you’ll have plenty of options to recharge a little. The sea is not far and April temperatures invite swimming in the Mediterranean 🏊‍♂️. As mentioned, the culture is rich in Catalonia and invites exploration! ✨ Staying around Montseny, you can discover the many castles of the region, such as the Château de Montsoriu or the Château de Fluvià 🏰. If you decide to stay in mountainous areas and you’re drawn to mystical places, then visit the Montserrat Monastery, perched in the middle of a wildly shaped mountain ⛰. A must-see that will stay in your memory for sure. Of course, you can also be sure to swing by Barcelona, one of Europe’s most beautiful cities 🇪🇺. The works of Gaudi, the Camp Nou stadium ⚽, local gastronomy... So many things await you 😍. What a weekend to remember!
