Ultra Paine

Alright, we have to admit we’re taking you far away, very far... All the way to the southern tip of the looooooong Chile 🇨🇱, and more precisely, inside the famous Patagonie! Yes, we know that just hearing this word makes many mouths water 🤤. Not surprising since it’s one of the planet’s most beautiful and wild natural areas... A landscape of contrasts, characterized by a diversity of scenery: mountains, glaciers, pampas, forests, coastlines, ponds, islands and archipelagos 🤩. But what are you going to do at the end of September in Chile? The incredible Ultra Paine, a race that has taken place every year since 2014 around Puerto Natales, a small port town facing a large group of islets rising from the mainland. A unique setting to take on tough conditions. Ready to take on the challenge? 🦾

English speakers will note that “bread” STRIKINGLY resembles the word “pain” : bread (and we’re not talking baguettes 🥖) 😂. There won’t be any bread here, surely. As for pain, there will be some, just a little… 😅 (don’t panic, there are enough different distances to suit everyone’s taste!). It’s in the Torres del Paine National Park that you’ll have the pleasure of running. Probably quick, given the level of runners at the start of this event, part of the UTMB® World Circuit and the International Trail Running Association 🌍. This isn’t going to be easy! Nevertheless, this adventure remains open to as many runners as possible, given the number of distances on offer: 7 km, 14 km, 21 km, 35 km, 42 km, 50 km and 80 km. Lace up, it’s time to collect precious UTMB and ITRA points! 👟🏃‍♀️

Fortunately, it’s the driest season in a part of the world classified as a “mild temperate with cold wet climate without a dry season.” Here, it’s cold and damp year-round, with only a 20°C spread between the warmest moment of summer (max 15°C) and winter (min -3°C). Patagonia trail running is a must for many nature lovers, here’s your chance! 🌊🌞🌲

To whet your appetite even more, here’s the backstory: the Torres del Paine National Park bears this name in honor of three striking granitic mountain peaks, the Towers of Paine, which delight climbers and hikers 🫶. A place located 45 minutes from Puerto Natales, so it’s a must-see before or after the race! If you’d rather try another activity to burn off energy, you can always opt for horseback riding, kayaking, fishing, or simply... photography! 📸 Trust us, you’ll want to capture this!
