87 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of 1300mD+, which you can do solo or in pair, here’s what the Ultra Trail of the Pays de Fontainebleau is all about! The course, reserved for runners with fitness well above average, features blue trails and GR trails in the heart of the forest that was once the royal hunting grounds 🦌. In the midst of exceptional nature, you’ll also run on single-track trails speckled with sand, rocks, and roots, which will make them treacherous and technical. With the first spring sun rays, the scenery is stunning. But if you have to weather a shower, mud will add an extra layer of challenge to your journey. 😒

After a physically demanding race, you can take time to visit the Château de Fontainebleau which, from François I to Napoléon III, welcomed all French monarchs for centuries, from the Renaissance to the middle of the 19th century. 👑

For a touch of culinary delight, the pain d’épices de Pithiviers and the Fontainebleau, a whipped cream and cottage cheese blend, will do you good. 😋
