Urban Trail de Cergy-Pontoise

The Cergy-Pontoise Urban Trail lets you discover two notable towns in Île-de-France, the two capitals of the 95, Cergy and Pontoise. Easily accessible from Paris thanks to the RER A 🚉, the metropolis notably hosts the students of the ESSEC. The Raid ESSEC association Raid ESSEC came up with the idea of organizing this race 🏃‍♂️ to highlight the beauties of the two communes. This trail will show you all their facets: from the streets to the green spaces that line the route. Two distances are offered : the 11 km will give you a very urban route, with a pass in front of the château de Marcouville 🏰 and about a kilometer along the Oise before turning around and returning to gym Marie Laurencin for the finish. The 21 km offers a similar course, with an extra detour through the Bois de Saint-Antoine 🌳.

The city of Pontoise is listed as “City of Art and History”, the student association Raid ESSEC aims to promote the natural and cultural heritage while embracing a eco-friendly and inclusive approach ♻️ and 🦽. 2014 marked the first edition of the Urban Trail. The idea is to create a race that is more accessible than the Raid ESSEC by making it accessible to handisport athletes. Since the start, participants have been in a environmentally respectful approach with reduction and waste sorting. This year you’ll again find on-site an eco-cup and reusable tableware.

Once the race is finished, you’ll be tempted to visit the capital, and we don’t blame you! So many sights to see, especially if you’ve never set foot there. Yet Parisians and those who already know Paris will be tempted to explore new things. Luckily, the 95 is full of wonders waiting to be discovered! The Parc Naturel du Vexin Français , located just a stone’s throw from Cergy, offers a variety of activities such as hiking or horseback riding 🐎 in a restorative setting where you can encounter diverse species like the luna moth 🦋 or the barn owl 🦉. If you prefer art 🖼️, the Musée Camille-Pissarro will let you observe some paintings inside an old château with remarkable architecture.
