Waverley Judo Inter-Club Competition

Rules
The primary purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for young judoka who have never competed before to gain some valuable competition experience. As such, all matches will be performed using a modified rules set.
A participant’s age is based on their age as of 31st December 2026.
To ensure the program runs on schedule, match times will be set at 2 minutes and 30 seconds for Under 7's, 9's & 11's. Under 13's & 15's will be 3 minutes and 30 seconds. The clock will run continuously for the duration of each match, regardless of how often matte is called.
Even if an Ippon is scored, the match will continue for the full time. At the end of the match, the athlete with the higher score will be declared the winner. If scores are tied, the match will be recorded as a draw, and no Golden Score will be held.
If we determine that there is a significant difference in ability between the two athletes, the match may be stopped after a second or third Ippon. This is to prevent injuries and to avoid discouragement from excessive throws.
