Le sol se compose quasi exclusivement de chemins de terre monotraces sinueux traversant de denses forêts de chênes et de pins. Tes chaussures vont goûter à la boue locale et franchir plusieurs ruisseaux avant de se heurter à la redoutable ascension de Goat Hill, un mur brutal qui va t'obliger à poser les mains sur les genoux 🧗♂️. L'empreinte historique frappe fort en empruntant une large portion des pistes de l'Auburn State Recreation Area, berceau ancestral de la célèbre ruée vers l'or et passage iconique de la mythique Western States ⛏️.
Oublie les ravitaillements tristounets, la tradition exige ici de croquer dans les emblématiques cupcakes décorés d'une petite grenouille en sucre une fois la ligne franchie 🧁. Les cris passionnés des bénévoles résonnent sous les arbres centenaires pour t'encourager dans les portions les plus raides 📣. Une atmosphère follement authentique s'empare des bois pour faire briller tes yeux de coureur de l'extrême ✨.
