Skip the winter blues and grab an adrenaline rush on the Brno course, a stage of the Czech winter running circuit. Two dynamic distances of 4 and 8 km are on offer, with a flat yet varied route around the Riviera leisure complex and Anthropos Park, near the Svratka. At the finish, a winter medal and hot tea await before enjoying Brno's cafés and heritage.
Don’t let the winter gloom win and fuel your endorphins on the course through the capital of Moravia! Winter Run Brno (a step of the legendary Czech winter running circuit) is the perfect opportunity to test your fitness in a chilly yet incredibly warm atmosphere. When nature rests, Moravian trails pulse with life and sport energy.
Two dynamic winter distances await you: 4 km and the flagship distance 8 km (Winter Run). The race base and course are usually located in the picturesque and green Riviera Leisure Complex as well as around Anthropos Park, along the Svratka River. The route, flat yet varied (often blanketed in a white duvet), lends itself to a fast race, and at the finish you’ll find a legendary and heavy winter motif medal, along with a cup of comforting hot tea.
After the icy effort and burning hundreds of calories, Brno — famous for its incredible café culture and charming bistros — offers ideal conditions to warm up and recover:
Winter stroll to the Špilberk Castle : This powerful fortress dominates the city. Climbing the castle hill on a invigorating winter morning will gift you with a splendid panorama of Brno’s snow-covered rooftops. It’s also worth peeking into the casemates to feel the history of yesteryear 🏰.
Warm up in Brno cafés: Brno is regarded as the coffee capital of the Czech Republic. Alternative, incredibly cosy cafés (around Zelný trh or at Náměstí Svobody) are perfect refuges after a winter run. Order a hot, strong espresso, sample local pastries, and let the weekend vibe wash over you ☕.
Moravian feast and mulled wine to warm up: It’s time to seriously recharge. Stop by a traditional tavern for a comforting garlic soup (česnečka) with croutons and cheese, or a hearty (roast pork with sauerkraut and dumplings) Moravský vrabec.
