Hold onto your poles, we’re taking on the peaks of Valais… The Trail Verbier St Bernard by UTMB® awaits you in July in Verbier, the heart of Switzerland, and is part of the UTMB® World Series. Four formats push elevation and endurance to the limit, from the X-Alpine (140 km, 8,900 mD+) to the Verbier X-Plore (28 km, 1,700 mD+) and the Marathon (43 km, 3,000 mD+), not forgetting the X-Traversée (77 km, 5,000 mD+).

The Trail Verbier St Bernard by UTMB® awaits you in July in Verbier, in the heart of Switzerland. This event is a landmark of the UTMB® World Circuit, ensuring top-notch organization 🧅. On the agenda: obscene elevation gains and breathtaking panoramas for a mythical race 🤩.
For this challenge, you’ll need to pick your poison among four formats that offer no mercy 🎁. If you’ve got the legs for the ogre X-Alpine, get ready for 140 km of pure bliss (or pain) with a colossal elevation gain of 8 900 mD+ 📈. The start is at night, at 22:00, to skim the resort "by night" before plunging toward Sembrancher 🌙. It’s a journey that takes you to the race’s highest point, the Orny Shelter at 2,826 m. For those who prefer a tighter but still mighty format, the X-Traversée departs from La Fouly on 77 km for 5 000 mD+ 🥵. It offers a sequence of 5 iconic cols, including the Grand Saint-Bernard Pass, famous for its rescue dogs that historically wore a small rum bottle around their neck (spoiler: don’t count on it for refueling) 🐶. The Verbier Marathon doesn’t joke around when it comes to its 43 km with 3 000 mD+ 💥. It’s pure alpine terrain climbing to the summit of the Mont-Rogneux at 3 084 m ⛰️. If you don’t have a climber’s footing, move along, because the technical ridges demand as much focus 🧗♂️. More accessible yet just as stunning, the Verbier X-Plore (28 km and 1 700 mD+) takes you up to the Pierre Avoi for a view worthy of a Swiss chocolate ad, before heading to the Mont Fort Hut and along the charming Levron Bisse.
Whether you’re going big on the Grand Combin and its 4 314 m or shaking on the passerelle de Corbassière (190 m long over the void), you’ll never be alone 💥. Legends have traversed the trails like Ludovic Pommeret or Caroline Chavernot, true UTMB Legends 🏆. The kids aren’t left out with the Trail des KIDS, while teens 12 to 17 can try a tactical orienteering race through the station streets📍.
Oh yes! The courses finish with the famous "wall": a 1,200 mD+ climb just before the finish line to remind you nothing is secured until the arch 😈.
