But if you think that the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is a walk in the park, the Outdoor Cycling Series Livradois Forez will snap you back to reality 😇. We’re taking you to the Puy-de-Dôme, starting from Ambert, for a self-supported cycling epic. The adventure offers two formats, road or gravel, that smell of sweat and breathtaking scenery: a monstrous 350 km with 7 000 mD+ and a route of 150 km with 3 000 mD+. 🏔️ It's the perfect chance to test your drivetrain and your mindset on middle-mountain roads and trails in the autumn colors of October 🍂.

On the ground, it’s far from the smooth coastal bike lanes ❌. Here you’ll weave through deep forests of the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park, which hides extraordinary natural riches like the peat bogs, moors montane, alluvial forestsalluvial forests, natural prairies and many watercourses...💧 It’s a setting that calls to mind epic cinema crossings 🎥. Whether you’re a pure asphalt rider on rolling backroads or a gravel enthusiast on forest trails, diversity is the watchword 🤪. Note, however, that elevation is a constant judge: steep grades and a gearing setup ready to handle steep percentages ⚙️. We’re here for an autonomous experience (E-bikes stay in the garage! ⚡️). No huge crowd here (yes, it’s limited to 50 people max 😊), but a community of enthusiasts looking to push their limits in a preserved setting 🤝. Unless you’re a superhuman, you won’t do 350 km in one go ❌. You’re free to book accommodation in advance with help from the organization, or find it as you go along in your adventure. Camping may sting in October! 🥶 You’ve likely gathered, this event isn’t a race, but an epic in nature, at your own pace without chrono pressure ⏳, so zeeeeeen 🧘.

After the effort, it’s time to unwind by exploring the surroundings. Located at the heart of the Puy-de-Dôme, Ambert will reveal hidden natural gems 💎. You can pick up at the edge of the Lac d'Aydat, visit La Chaise-Dieu and its old town, and even take a spin to Vulcania, the volcanic park and discovery center ☄️. We strongly recommend ending your adventure with a delicious truffade, and the trip is p-e-r-f-e-c-t 🧀.
