Le semi-marathon du Millénaire d'Accra est la principale course sur route certifiée par World Athletics en Afrique de l'Ouest ; elle attire des athlètes de haut niveau venus du Ghana et du monde entier. Réputé pour allier à la perfection une compétition acharnée et l'hospitalité ghanéenne, cet événement offre aux athlètes une occasion unique de repousser leurs limites sur un parcours rapide en centre-ville, partant de l'emblématique Arc de la Liberté d'Accra pour s'achever à Black Star Square. Le parcours certifié passe devant des sites emblématiques, notamment le mausolée de Kwame Nkrumah, le Théâtre national et la Jubilee House, et se distingue par les images et les sons vibrants des percussions et des danses locales qui dynamisent le peloton. Outre le semi-marathon, une course de 5 kilomètres accueille des participants vêtus de tenues colorées, favorisant ainsi une compétition animée et un esprit de camaraderie. Les coureurs d’élite comme les amateurs passionnés apprécieront ce riche mélange de sport, de culture et de rythmes entraînants qui définissent l’ambiance de la course.
