Le marathon de Tawang est une course sur route en haute altitude qui se déroule à plus de 3 000 mètres d'altitude dans l'État d'Arunachal Pradesh, en Inde. Depuis sa création en 2023, il attire chaque année près de 5 000 coureurs qui participent au marathon, au semi-marathon et à des épreuves plus courtes. Accréditée par l'AIMS et reconnue par l'Indian Athletics, cette course combine un terrain himalayen difficile et une organisation précise. Le parcours se termine au stade d'altitude Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso, où l'armée indienne et l'administration locale assurent à la fois la sécurité et une logistique sans faille. Parmi les traditions des finisseurs, on trouve le khada, un foulard cérémoniel symbolisant la bonne volonté.
